About Captain Trevor

Trevor Johnson is a lifelong Florida native whose love for boating began in the waters around Bradenton. Some of his most vivid childhood memories involve sleeping overnight on a 20-foot Grady White with his parents and reeling in snook and redfish alongside his brothers. That early connection to the water shaped a lifelong passion—one he now shares with his own family.

Married to his amazing wife Heather for over 25 years, Trevor is a proud father to TJ, Christian, and Jazmin. Together, they’ve spent countless hours sailing, fishing, diving, tubing, skiing, and exploring the coast on overnight boat trips. For Trevor, boating isn’t just a hobby—it’s a way of life, a source of joy, and a tool for connection.

After 30 years as a dedicated Health and Physical Education teacher, Trevor retired to pursue a second career rooted in skill and passion. In September 2025, he earned his USCG Captain’s License, completing rigorous coursework, scoring over 90% on exams, and validating years of sea service. Now, as The Boat Coach, he offers instruction, delivery, freelance captaining, and dockside care—specializing in both motorboats and sailboats.
